man who does not keep this promise.

Because Nehemiah wanted to wait to see how bad
the walls were before deciding what work needed to be done.

Because Nehemiah had not
yet said anything to those who would be doing the work.

Because he did not want too many people going and telling him what

do.

He tore up the letter and and ignored
them, telling the Jews that their
enemies were
making it up.

Nothing like what you are
saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.

He laughed and said you are all crazy and want to intimidate me. I
will
not let you get to me.

Before they know it or see us, we will be right there tearing down
the
wall.

can rebuild the wall.

We need it to buy grain for all of the people of Jerusalem, so
that we can feed them.

given to Nehemiah to make beams for the
gates of the
citadel, for the city wall and for his residence.

Because he would have to travel through the King’s forest to get
to
Judah and he wanted the keeper to know
that he was permitted to be
there.

So that Nehemiah could purchase the timber that would be needed to
rebuild the city walls.
